The Black Rose Acoustic Society

For over 30 years, The Black Rose Acoustic Society has been the home of live, handmade acoustic music in the Pikes Peak Region. We host twice-monthly concerts, jams, and classes through the year. Nestled in the tall Colorado pines, the down-home atmosphere of our log-cabin concert hall provides a family-oriented setting unsurpassed in friendliness and congeniality.

vOLUNTEER WITH THE BLACK ROSE

The Black Rose is run almost entirely by volunteers. Our organization only exists because of time and energy from folks giving back to our community. If you enjoy our concerts, jams, classes, and other events, won’t you consider helping? You can apply in person at any of our shows using the form below.

Here are some current volunteering opportunities. All of our openings require good communication and organization skills and the ability to communicate effectively by electronic means. We use email to coordinate most of our activities:

  • Bookkeeper

As the Black Rose grows, our tax filing and general accounting becomes more and more complicated. We are looking for someone with an accounting background who can assist our treasurer with some of these ever-growing tasks. Many of these are currently done manually, and the position would involve helping to automate them using tools such as Quickbooks and Microsoft Excel. There will also be a potential migration path into the treasurer position within the next two years.
