The Black Rose Acoustic Society

For over 30 years, The Black Rose Acoustic Society has been the home of live, handmade acoustic music in the Pikes Peak Region. We host twice-monthly concerts, jams, and classes through the year. Nestled in the tall Colorado pines, the down-home atmosphere of our log-cabin concert hall provides a family-oriented setting unsurpassed in friendliness and congeniality.

vOLUNTEER WITH THE BLACK ROSE

The Black Rose is run almost entirely by volunteers. Our organization only exists because of time and energy from folks giving back to our community. If you enjoy our concerts, jams, classes, and other events, won’t you consider helping? You can apply in person at any of our shows or by using the form below.

Here are some current volunteering opportunities. All of our openings require good communication and organization skills and the ability to communicate effectively by electronic means. We use email to coordinate most of our activities:

  • Sound Engineer

We need a team of 3 people to manage the sound equipment at our Friday night concerts, and we really could use a few more qualified people to add to the “mix.” Tasks include:

    • Helping set up the stage, mixing board, mic stands, microphones, DI boxes, and cables starting at 4:00 on the night of the concert.

    • Understanding and using our Behringer M32 mixer - training provided.

    • Performing sound checks on 1 or more of the 2 opening acts, and monitoring the sound during the show.

    • Tearing down the setup at the end of the concert and putting all equipment away.

We also need help at our Showcase event at the Buffalo Lodge on 1st and 3rd Wednesdays from 5-9. This also serves as an excellent training ground for our Friday concerts.

If you are a musician who has either had to run your own sound while playing out or have recorded at home, then you have the right background. Please fill out the email form below if you are interested.
