Scholarship
The Black Rose has resurrected its Scholarship program, but with a few changes. We are all about offering opportunities in music education to young people who otherwise might not be able to afford the training they desire.
In 2026 we are partnering with Colorado Roots Music Camp and offering a full-ride scholarship to either of their weeklong music camps offered in June and August. The scholarship is called βThe Charlie Hall Scholarship Fund,β named after Charlie Hall, founder of both the Black Rose Acoustic Society and Colorado Roots Music Camp and who sadly passed away in 2018 (read more about Charlie here).
Applicants must be under 25 years of age and have a passion for music. Applications need to be received by April 1st. Instructions on how to apply are on the Colorado Roots Music Camp site here:
Colorado Roots Music Camp Scholarship
(When applying, be sure and mention that you heard about this through the Black Rose as the scholarship is open to others as well).
Recipients will be selected by a joint scholarship committee consisting of the Colorado Roots Music Camp leadership team and Black Rose scholarship committee members. Applicants will be judged on the merit of the course of study planned, desire to enhance their appreciation and performance of acoustic music, and financial need.
Many members of the Black Rose have attended Roots Camp over the years and feel it is an outstanding opportunity for anyone wanting to further their music education.
