The fall semester of the 2026 Black Rose Music School is now open for registration. We are offering 8 classes beginning Oct. 3rd in ear training, harmonica, fingerstyle guitar, bluegrass banjo, blues guitar, vocals (2 different classes), and fiddle.

What’s New in Fall 2026:

• We are now offering a scholarship for free enrollment to qualifying students (see below).

• Jambassador Michael Watry is again teaching his ear training class.

• Country jam leader Doug Kladder and Mark Rounsley are teaching a beginning harmonica class.

• Malcom is teaching an intermediate fingerstyle guitar class as a continuation of last spring’s beginning class.

• Ray is resurrecting his beginning bluegrass banjo class and offering a follow-on to last year’s blues guitar soloing class.

• Revele is teaching 2 different vocal classes on Thursday nights.

• Fiddle jam leader Danna Moore is offering a beginning fiddle class.

We hope you will find something you like. Classes start the 3rd of October, so sign up soon. Can’t find something that interests you? The spring semester will start the first week of April so check back in late February, or email us here with suggestions on classes you would like to see.

We are once again proud to be partnered with Meeker Music, a longtime local Colorado Springs music store that manages our classes and provides classroom space.

General information:

• Semester Duration: The fall 2026 classes in general start the week of Oct. 5th and last through the week ending Saturday Nov. 14th, for a total of 6 hour-long sessions (Danna’s final Beginning Fiddle class is on Nov. 21st to avoid the Veterans Day parade on Nov. 7th, and Michael’s Ear Training class starts Oct. 3rd and lasts 4 weeks). • Cost:

  • $99 for Black Rose members (member discount code needs to be entered at checkout). Email us here for the code.

  • $109 for non-members

  • $ave big by becoming a member before you register!

• Instructors: We are very selective about whom we hire to give you the highest quality of instruction possible. Click on the INSTRUCTORS tab above read about each of our instructors.

• Class Size: In general, class size will be from 3-10 students, depending on the instructor and room size. If fewer than 3 students register for a class and it’s canceled, you will be notified and receive a full refund.

• Waiting List: Our classes are very popular, and they oftentimes fill up. We limit size to give you the most value for your money. If a class you want is sold out, you can get on our waiting list. We’ll contact you if space opens up, or if there is enough interest to teach a second class at a different time, which often happens.

As part of our scholarship program, we are offering free tution to qualifying students interested in taking one of our classes:

• Applicants must be a current student in middle school, high school, or college and over 12 years of age (students < 12 may apply but must be accompanied in class by a parent or guardian).

• To apply, please email us telling us why you are applying. Factors such as financial hardship or interest in pursuing a music career will be considered. Be sure to include your:

  • Name

  • Email

  • Phone Number

  • Class you are interested in taking

• Only 1 class per applicant, please.

• DO NOT register for the class. After reviewing your application we will email you back on whether you are being awarded the scholarship or not, and automatically register you for the class if you qualify. If the class fills up before this happens, we will make sure you get in.
