The Black Rose Acoustic Society

For over 30 years, The Black Rose Acoustic Society has been the home of live, handmade acoustic music in the Pikes Peak Region. We host twice-monthly concerts, jams, and classes through the year. Nestled in the tall Colorado pines, the down-home atmosphere of our log-cabin concert hall provides a family-oriented setting unsurpassed in friendliness and congeniality.

OUR CONCERTS

Our twice-monthly concerts are held on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of most months in an intimate, 1929 log hall with great acoustics, just outside Colorado Springs. We're a "listening room." Our audiences come to focus on the music, not to chatter and make a ruckus. Our shows consist of two 5-song opening sets, followed by a one-hour feature set. We're a non-profit organization and are here to promote music, not profits, so admission is only $8 for members and $15 for the public.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to promote handmade music played on traditional instruments. While that covers many styles, we can’t book pop, rock, or acts with drum kits. Common styles we support include folk, bluegrass, Americana, Celtic, string band, old-time, blues, and swing. We aim to focus on traditional acoustic music, and we are a strictly non-religious and non-political organization.
