The Black Rose Acoustic Society

For over 30 years, The Black Rose Acoustic Society has been the home of live, handmade acoustic music in the Pikes Peak Region. We host twice-monthly concerts, jams, and classes through the year. Nestled in the tall Colorado pines, the down-home atmosphere of our log-cabin concert hall provides a family-oriented setting unsurpassed in friendliness and congeniality.

For our annual Homecoming Show in 2026, we again return to the Black Rose “Roots Cellar,” featuring local artist and longtime Black Rose member Lewis Mock, joined by his daughter Carmen as the feature act, with Alex and Mike Carr and Friends returning home as the opener.

Carmen & Lewis are a father-daughter duo who’ve been performing together since Carmen was a little girl. United by a love for great songs and rich vocal harmony, they bring heart, soul, and a touch of family magic to every performance. Their acoustic sets draw from decades of music — from Fleetwood Mac to Patsy Cline, The Beatles to Adele, The Everly Brothers to Bruce Hornsby, and Simon & Garfunkel to Whitney Houston.

Carmen Mock is a dynamic vocalist with a strong background in musical theatre and commercial voice. She studied at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York, Belmont University in Nashville, and spent eight years training at the Colorado Springs Conservatory. She played Young Tammy in the national tour of Stand By Your Man: The Tammy Wynette Story, she sang first soprano for three seasons with the San Francisco Lyric Chorus, and was a founding member of the local trio, The Honeybuns.

Lewis Mock is a seasoned performer and has shared the stage with Suzy Bogguss, Melissa Manchester, Debby Boone, and the John Denver Band. He spent nearly 30 years as house guitarist at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, was a two-time member of the Flying W Wranglers, and a former member of The Red Mountain Boys. Lewis is a true multi-instrumentalist and a walking encyclopedia of American music. Lewis continues to perform throughout the Pikes Peak area with various acts — always bringing deep skill, passion, and authenticity to the stage.
