The Black Rose Acoustic Society

For over 30 years, The Black Rose Acoustic Society has been the home of live, handmade acoustic music in the Pikes Peak Region. We host twice-monthly concerts, jams, and classes through the year. Nestled in the tall Colorado pines, the down-home atmosphere of our log-cabin concert hall provides a family-oriented setting unsurpassed in friendliness and congeniality.

Brad Colerick's songs seep into your heart with a single listen, and his red-hot band will put some fire in your tank. Billboard Magazine called Colerick "one of a baker's dozen of acts to watch in the folk community around the world.” The Associated Press said, "Colerick's stories are worth hearing... His warm, sunny, homey tenor brings alive the characters, places, and relationships in these 11 songs."

The Nebraska native built a successful career making music for the advertising industry, where he wrote and produced songs recorded by Johnny Cash, BB King, Shawn Colvin, Buddy Guy, and other musical icons, earning him a Regional Emmy Award among other accolades. His albums land firmly in the Americana wheelhouse with appearances by Chris Hillman, Herb Pedersen, Suzy Bogguss, and April Verch.

The Fort Collins-based band consists of Colerick on acoustic guitar and vocals, Julie Lynam on bass and backing vocals, her husband Ron Lynam on banjo, fiddle, and pedal steel, and Tim Gauthier on mandolin, electric and acoustic guitars, and backing vocals.
