The Mountain Acoustic Music Association (MAMA) promotes and provides acoustic music venues for the Ute Pass area. Our October show, was our annual Celtic concert, this year featuring Ceol Ceili and Skean Dubh. Our Celtic concert is always very popular and for good reason, both bands gave an excellent performance. The final show of the 2009 MAMA season was in November and featured John Stone. John's engaging style and guitar playing made for a fitting finale to MAMA's 2009 concert season. That's right, the 2009 MAMA concert season has ended. Thank you for attending the shows. Many thanks to all the volunteers who make the organization run as well as make the concerts happen, as well as their families, who are often engaged as well. Thanks to the Ute Pass Cultural Center staff, Debbie Pinello, and Chad at the cash bar. Thanks to John Murray and Evan Hooten for making our shows sound great. Special thanks to our outgoing president, Laurie Maxwell, as well as our incoming president Butch Crouch. Thanks to the City of Woodland Park and the Dickson Performing Arts Center for their generous grants which enable us to continue providing the monthly shows. I've probably forgotten to thank someone, if so , you know who you are. To all who've contributed in any way large or small to the Mountain Acoustic Music Association, thank you. Now before we sing Auld Lang Syne and the big ball drops in Woodland Park, remember that MAMA has other happenings which continue year 'round. MAMA sponsors a weekly all-inclusive acoustic jam in Woodland Park. The MAMA jam is held every Monday from 7 to 9PM. The location for the Monday night jam has changed. It is now held at the People's National Bank building at 651 Scott Ave. in Woodland Park, in the community meeting room. That's the new bank building across highway 24 from McDonald's. For more information please see our website, as shown below. MAMA also sponsors a weekly open mic session on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 to 8:30 at the Wild Wings restaurant in Woodland Park. Wild Wings is located in the Safeway shopping center in Woodland Park on highway 24. Many MAMA volunteers and board members perform regularly at local venues in Woodland Park. Please get out and support local musicians. MAMA volunteers and board members are also the driving force behind the new internet radio show, SideTrax, on TellerNetCast.com. SideTrax focuses on music in the Pike's Peak region. MAMA's 2010 concert season will begin in April 2010. MAMA’s regular concert events are the third Friday of every month, from April through November. Our shows are held at the Ute Pass Cultural Center (UPCC) in Woodland Park at 7:00 in the evening. You can stay up to date on MAMA happenings by checking our website, www.mountainacoustic.org. Tom Mnich
