   Who we are

The Mountain Acoustic Music Association (MAMA) 2008 event season begins on Friday April 18, 2008.  By the time this gets published, it will have already happened.  Hope you were there.  I'll bet we all had a great time listening to  Phil Volan and Joleen Bell.  Last time I talked to Phil, he thought Joleen would be up to playing a couple songs by then.  I certainly hope that was the case.  MAMA's heartfelt wish is for Joleen's full and speedy recovery.   Our next show is on May 16, 2008 and the featured performers for that show are Willson and McKee.

Our 2008 schedule for the open stage at MAMA events still has lots of availability.  If you'd like to play an opening spot on the MAMA stage in 2008, contact Tom Mnich at 687-1303 (evenings).

MAMA sponsors a weekly all-inclusive acoustic jam in Woodland Park.  The MAMA jam is held every Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Park and Rec. building at 330 Park St. in Woodland Park and it continues throughout the winter months.  That’s one block west and one block north of the Ute Pass Cultural Center.  For more information about the slow jam, contact Dennis Stockton by email at dennisst@frws.com.  MAMA is now sponsoring a weekly open mic session on Tuesday evenings  from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Wild Wings restaurant in Woodland Park.  Wild Wings is located in the Safeway shopping center in Woodland Park on highway 24.

MAMA’s regular concert events are the third Friday of every month, from April through November.  Our shows are held at the Ute Pass Cultural Center (UPCC) in Woodland Park at 7:00 p.m. in the evening.  You can stay up to date on MAMA happenings by checking our website, www.mountainacoustic.org.
