   Who we are

I know that “give the gift of music” is cliché.  Now, I don’t have any statistics to back this up, but I’ll bet that the majority of people prefer a music related gift than say, a flannel shirt.

Music gifts can be of two types; player gifts and listener gifts.  If the person you are giving the gift to already has a musical instrument or would like to learn how to play one, get them a player gift; an instrument, pre-paid lessons, music books, instructional DVDs or instrument accessories.  If this person really doesn’t have an interest in playing an instrument but likes music, then an appropriate gift for the listener would be a CD, concert DVD, concert tickets, an MP3 player or even an iTunes card.  Players are usually easy to please ‘cause they like both player gifts and listener gifts.  If the person you’re giving a gift to is not one of these types then maybe you better get their shirt size.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention a Black Rose Acoustic Society membership as a gift option. It’s a gift that you can give to both players and listeners. You can even give this gift to that other type; the ones that seem to have no interest in things musical.  It’s hard to fathom, but these people exist. They might actually be a player or a listener and just don’t know it.  A membership and subsequent attendance at one of our Friday night shows at the Black Forest Community Center might just be the thing that gets them to connect with their inner player/listener.

If you would like to purchase a gift membership, print out this form, fill it out and send it to us at PO Box 165, Colorado Springs, CO 80901-0165.

We can mail the membership directly to the gift recipient or to you, if you prefer to hand deliver it. If you have any questions, write us at membership@blackroseacoustic.org.
