   Who we are

The Dave German Band performs acoustic harmonies like they were a cool sip of mountain spring water which sweeps you back into the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s.  They’ll treat you to a dose of their own original tunes reminiscent of the Everly Brothers, Eagles, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Pure Prairie League and Poco. They made a big impression on the BRAS Open Stage a couple of years ago. In addition to Dave, the band consists of Bill Lockard, Richard Sealock, Oakley Cassaboom and Dan Davidson.

Dave German is a seasoned guitar player in several bands in and around Denver. He also played lead guitar for Sonny and Cher, Glen Campbell, Freddy Cannon and Rusty Young of Poco fame. Dave started playing guitar in 1956 at the age of ten after years of lessons on piano and violin. After playing in a multitude of school bands, Dave's first professional appearance was in a Denver bar band in 1962.

William "Bill" Lockard was born in Colorado, but soon moved to Texas. His musical roots are primarily in rock, blues, R&B, country, bluegrass and classical music. Like the other members of the band, he plays multiple instruments but concentrates on the drums in live performances.

Richard Sealock began playing acoustic guitar at age 10 and started singing 2 years later. Richard's career was strongly influenced by the Beatles, Crosby, Stills & Nash, country music, blues and rock & roll. He compliments his music career with his technical knowledge of stringed instruments and has repaired and restored instruments for 26 years.

Originally from San Diego, Oakley Cassaboom took up acoustic guitar, banjo and harmonica during the 60’s folk movement and was influenced by Pete Seeger,  Reverend Gary Davis, Huddie Leadbetter (Leadbelly),  Ry Cooder, plus Peter, Paul and Mary.  Later he discovered pedal steel guitar. He spent the next seven years touring with Live Wire Choir, performing a mixture of Appalachian, bluegrass and western swing music.

Dan Davidson plays bass.  Nobody knows where Dan called home; he just drifted into town and stayed all alone. He doesn’t say much; rather quiet and shy, and if you speak to him, you just say "Hi". My bet is he’s related to the equally mysterious “Slade” of Red Knuckles and the Trail Blazers.  Don’t miss this eclectic band’s first feature act!
